What Does a Car Concierge Actually Do?

Most people hear "car concierge" and picture someone who washes your car once a week. That's not really it...

A vehicle concierge is the person who holds the whole picture of your car in their head so you don't have to. Not just the obvious things like the MOT date or the last service. The small stuff too: tyre wear you haven't noticed yet. The fact you're away next week and the car needs to be ready when you're back. The stone chip you mentioned once in passing three months ago and then forgot about.

It's a shift from reactive to proactive. Most car ownership works the other way round. Something goes wrong, you notice it's wrong, then you scramble to find someone to fix it, book them in, drop the car off, arrange to pick it up, and hope the job was done properly. That whole process sits with the owner. With a concierge, it sits with someone else.

In practice that means one dedicated point of contact, reachable directly, who already knows your car and your routine well enough that nothing needs re-explaining. You mention something's come up and it gets handled, usually the same day, always with your sign off before anything happens.

Refuelling or recharging. Washing and detailing. Booking a repair. Sourcing better insurance. Arranging transport or storage. None of it requires you to think about who to call or whether they'll do a good job, because that judgement has already been made on your behalf by someone who knows what good looks like.

The people who benefit most tend to fall into two groups: 1) owners who genuinely don't have the time or inclination to manage a car properly themselves, often because they're travelling or running a business, and 2) the people around them - PAs and estate managers, who end up responsible for a car's upkeep as one small part of a much bigger role, without the automotive background to know whether a garage is doing right by the vehicle.

What separates a real concierge relationship from a one-off favour or a good local garage is continuity. There's no call centre and no rotating cast of staff. It's one person building up knowledge of your car over time, the way a good doctor builds up knowledge of a patient. That's what makes it possible to catch things early rather than reacting once they've become expensive.

If you own a car that matters to you and don't have the time, expertise or inclination to manage it properly yourself, that's really what this service exists to solve.
